Reverend Cynthia Bourgeault, Ph.D.
Cynthia Bourgeault, Ph.D is an Episcopalian priest and retreat leader focusing in Christian Spirituality, the Wisdom Tradition and Contemplative Practice. She is passionately committed to the recovery of the Christian contemplative path and has worked closely with Fr. Thomas Keating as a teacher of Centering Prayer, Fr. Bruno Barnhart, and other Christian contemplative masters, as well as in Sufism and the Christian inner traditions. She is founding director of the Contemplative Society in Vancouver, BC and a fellow at the Fetzer Institute. Her books include Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening, The Wisdom of Knowing, Mystical Hope, and Love is Stronger than Death.
Elliot Dacher, MD
Elliott Dacher is a pioneer in the emerging field of integral health. He attended medical school at S.U.N.Y., Buffalo, and completed his post-graduate training at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and on the Harvard Medical Service at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. He has served as director of wellness and health promotion services for the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program and on the editorial board of the Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. He is a past fellow of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and a former medical advisor to Healthy Living. Dr. Dacher is the author of Whole Healing, Intentional Healing, and the soon-to-be-published, Uncommon Health.
Rabbi Rami Shapiro, Ph.D.
Rami Shapiro is an award winning poet and essayist, whose liturgical writings are used in prayer services throughout North America. He has written over a dozen works of poetry, liturgy, short story and nonfiction. Rabbi Shapiro is a graduate of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and holds a doctoral degree in religious studies from Union Graduate School. A congregation rabbi for 20 years, Rabbi Rami now devotes himself full time to his writing, teaching, and directing the One River Foundation. His books include Open Secrets, Hasidic Tales Annotated and Explained, The Hebrew Prophets Annotated and Explained and the recently published, The Divine Feminine.
Ed Bastian, Ph.D.
Ed Bastian, President of the Spiritual Paths Foundation, holds a Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies and Western Philosophy. He lived for years in Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and studied Indian philosophy and religion at Banares Hindu University. At the Smithsonian, Bastian taught courses in religion, served as Director of Programs on BioDiversity and Intellectual History. He produced a series of television documentaries on the religions of Asia for the BBC and PBS and three films on Tibetan Buddhism.
