PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
During the past thirty-five years, the US and world have experienced a revolution in gender relationships, increased conflicts between those of different religions, and the co-mingling of people of diverse spiritual beliefs. Relationships with our fellow human beings have been become increasingly complex and enriching.
This extraordinary gathering of spiritual leaders will explore the role of spirituality in creating successful relationships, and the role of relationships in deepening our own spiritual paths. Our teachers will provide us with wisdom and tools to help us to develop and actualize our individual spiritual paths in relationship with our partners, family, professional associates, and community.
The Path of Relationships entails the actualization of love, compassion, kindness, forgiveness and generosity. Through relationships we see reflections of ourselves and we experience our shared human condition as reflected in the lives of others. Relationships are the playground for hatred and love, narcissism and compassion, ignorance and wisdom, hedonism and spirituality.
The program will include presentations, experiential sessions, group discussions and a panel discussion. The program begins at the Aspen Chapel on Thursday evening, July 7 at 7:30 pm. It ends at 12:00 noon on Sunday with a multi-faith service on top of Aspen Mountain.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
1. Explore the significance of spirituality in building successful relationships.
2. Explore how relationships can help us to develop our own spiritual paths.
3. Develop an inter-spiritual approach to relationships in a pluralistic world.
4. Learn how the world's major spiritual traditions teach us to integrate spirituality and relationships.
