Continue Your Journey with the Spiritual Paths Community
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Love and compassion are the pulse beating in the shared heart of the worldx92s great spiritual traditions. They are the fundamental impulse of life - - the spark of the divine that defines our highest state of being. Love might be defined as the sacred connection that seeks eternal happiness for others. Compassion might be defined as our mutual intention to help each other to be liberated from suffering.
Continue your journey with the Spiritual Paths Community as we explore how Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism define and manifest love and compassion in spiritual practice and through daily life. We will explore both the metaphysical nature and personal feelings of love and how to distinguish between true unconditional love and love generated by passion and attachment. Our teachers will show us the scriptural sources and contemplative practices from their respective traditions. They will lead us in meditation, prayer, music, dance and poetry that help us to experience and to express the most profound qualities of our existence.
This weekend program will include presentations, experiential sessions, group discussions, an interspiritual service, and panel discussion. The program begins on Friday evening and concludes on Sunday afternoon.
Our teachers will include Father Thomas Keating, Rabbi Rami Shapiro, Ph.D., Shaikh Kabir and Camille Helminski, Tara Brach, Ph.D. and moderator, Ed Bastian, Ph.D.
