There are two enrollment options: Auditor and Certificate.  For details on the application procedures and requirements, please refer to the Application Process section.

Auditor

The Auditor option is provided for students who wish to begin by sampling the full curriculum before enrolling in the full course.  Auditors may attend the thematic intensive and then register for the semester courses in that theme.

Certificate Students

Survey Course: Certificate students will attend the six-day intensive held at the beginning of the semester where they learn about the shared and distinctive features of each tradition.  They will also have access to the recordings of each session and participate in the online curriculum and discussions.

Electives: Certificate students will participate in an elective course focusing on a single tradition.  They will have access to the recordings of each session as well as the online curriculum, discussions, and participate weekly phone-bridge and web classes.  The Elective will provide students with a foundation and context for contemplative practice in that tradition.

Practicum: Certificate students will select one tradition in which they will be guided in a contemplative practice to be practiced each day during the semester. They will have access to the recordings of each session as well as the online curriculum, discussions, and participate in live weekly phone-bridge or web-based classes.

Paper: Certificate students will complete and receive comments on a single 5-10 page semester paper covering their learning and meditation experience.

Independent Study

Students may increase their level of study with a teacher and tradition by enrolling in independent study in addition to their regular course work.  Independent study must be approved by the relevant teacher.
