  • Spiritual Paths Institute Presents
    InterSpiritual Silence and Meditation
    Forging Deep EcoSpirituality
    Leaders

    OVERVIEW

    Through silence, meditation, and the contemplative teachings of Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism and eco-psychology, this retreat will explore a new EcoSpiritual paradigm for serving the environmental needs of the earth.

    In recent years, we have learned that our planet is in profound environmental crisis. We have come to realize how outmoded cultural, scientific, and religious paradigms have led us into disharmony with nature. In this retreat, we will explore emerging integrated paradigms of eco-interspirituality and eco-psychology as allies to environmental science and activism.

    GOALS

    • Engage in profound meditative practices of Buddhism, Christianity,
      Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and eco-psychology;
    • Discern our inner values, desires, emotions, and habits that lead to global warming;
    • Heal these internal causes in order to help heal the environment;
    • Integrate spiritual and psychological with technological and political approaches to environmental healing

    SCHEDULE

    This retreat will alternate between periods of teaching, silence, and shared reflection. During our teaching sessions, leaders will offer profound practices for silent contemplation and meditation that lead to tranquility, wisdom, compassion, healing, and environmental action in the world. These practices will include: Buddhist samatha and vipasyana, Christian Centering Prayer, Hindu re-unification of Atman and Brahman, Sufi Remembrance, Jewish Kabala, and eco-psychology.
