Our objective is to help each student acquire spiritual knowledge, tools, and practices for their professional and personal lives in the following areas:

Traditional Lineages

The world’s great spiritual traditions preserve lineages of authentic teachings that lead back to the original inspiration of their founders.  Our curriculum is based on these sources whose integrity is essential for InterSpiritual study and practice.

Partnership and Collaboration

Our teachers and students are equal partners and collaborators in InterSpiritual education and training.  We share our respective principles, theories, and practices. We learn deeply from each other thereby enhancing our own practices.   We gain profound knowledge, respect and kinship with people from all traditions.

Primary Practice in Context

The exceptional value of the Spiritual Paths Institute comes from an integrated training in a primary practice along with systematic exposure to practices from other traditions. This uniquely inclusive education and training helps students to develop a mature, comprehensive, and sustainable meditative practice, giving rise to compassion, wisdom, equanimity, meaning, and purpose.

Community

Our students and teachers have created a supportive community around a shared interest in the vision of InterSpiritual Wisdom, the study of the world’s contemplative traditions, and an integrated, sustainable meditative practice.

Social Meaning

While rigorous in its academics, the Spiritual Paths Institute is also concerned with the potential for InterSpirituality to enhance human life, culture, and global understanding. The program will help students to become more knowledgeable, effective, empathic participants in our increasingly culturally and spiritually pluralistic society.

Professional Development

This program will help professionals to apply InterSpiritual knowledge, principles, and practices to a variety of fields including but not limited to education, environment, social work, ministry, chaplaincy, psychology, psychiatry, law enforcement, law, politics, economics, business, the military, and the arts. It will help qualify professionals in such emerging fields as InterSpiritual education, counseling, and ministry.

Personal Development

This program will help students deepen their own personal lives through an understanding of the world’s spiritual traditions and to develop their own spiritual paths rooted in these traditions.
