Theme 4: Personal Commitment
In this set of courses we will explore how InterSpiritual Wisdom can be a positive influence in the world and how each of us will apply it in our personal lives, professions, and communities.
We will examine the philosophies, organizations, and individuals that have exemplified a non-sectarian, InterSpiritual principles and values. We will explore how InterSpiritual perspectives might exert a positive influence on such issues as sectarianism, violence between peoples of different religions, social justice, healthcare, science, and the environment.
Classes will explore answers provided by each tradition to the following questions:
- What are the defining characteristics of “InterSpirituality?”
- Can InterSpirituality and Fundamentalism be reconciled?
- What experiences and characteristics provide a basis for the convergence or synergies between the spiritual traditions?
- Can InterSpirituality provide a new paradigm for world peace and understanding?
- How can each person apply InterSpiritual principles to their daily lives, families, communities, and progressions?
